Well our Mystery Dinner Theatre is finally over and it was a great success. We served over 250 people this year (including our workers). This was up from the 215 from last year. That alone was wonderful, but out cast really outdid themselves. They kept the crowd in stitches with the humor and silliness of the play and the stations cast members really wowed the teams with their wonderful performances. I don't want to forget to mention that Mrs. Tidwell and the cheerleaders did an amazing job serving the meal and the basketball team did an amazing job as ushers for the guests.
So... it was a wonderful evening and now we turn our sights to our next project, the Haunted House at the Fall Festival. Our theme this year is "Malice in Wonderland" and we have a few new tricks up our sleeves. Come out and visit us and let us try to give you a fright. Hello again! We have been crazy busy around here getting ready for our fall production. We are doing a mystery dinner theatre complete with ghosts, hauntings, and a real treasure that we have to find. The audience will be playing a clue game to find the key to the real treasure and actually searching throughout designated areas in the school to find this key. It should be great fun, not to mention the great meal we will be serving as well. The menu consists of spaghetti, bread sticks, applesauce, salad, drinks and cobbler. Reservations are due by Oct. 14 and we are well on our way.
We will also be having another guest blogger later this week. Hayden Ball was selected for next blogger. We hope to get him on here real soon. Finally, the drama club will be having our first fun day on Oct. 8. We will be doing a scavenger hunt and videoing our results. Then we will come back to the school to watch them and have a supper meal. It should be tons of fun. We are really looking forward to it. More for next time...... Greetings!!! I'm Meghan Bell, and I've been honored with the privilege to be the guest blogger this week. With the Mystery Dinner coming up next month, rehearsals are becoming more frequent, which means the excitement is building up! The cast has been working really hard on preparing for their roles, as well as other upcoming projects. Keep in mind that the Drama Club Fun Day is coming up as well; there will be lots of funs and laughs! I have no doubt that this year will be one of the best the drama department has ever had!
This past week was very busy for us. We are in the middle of rehearsals for our Mystery Dinner Theatre, we have been working with our production teams, we are planning our next fundraiser, and on Saturday, Sept. 17, myself and 5 students went to the L.E.A.D. Conference for ITS in Troy, Ohio this year. We spent the day attending workshops and doing activities, had a great lunch on site and then on our way home we stopped at Steak n Shake for supper. We had a good time, and it was fun to be able to get know each other better. When Christian and Jacob are together they are always good for a laugh. I brought home some new ideas for fundraising and social media awareness to get out group out there in the public eye. Hope to implement some of them soon. Will plan to have a new guest blogger this next week.
This Monday evening, Sept. 12, we inducted 7 new members into the International Thespian Society. With our current membership it brings us up to 13 students. So proud to have such a wonderful group of students who really care about what we do here at Fairlawn. Shout out to current members: Brendan McKnight, Kami Hamilton, Abbey Goins, Aliya Sharp, Kelsey Zircher, and Annie Stemen. New inducted members this year are: Jacklin Phinney, Jacob Couchot, Chase Myers, Jacqueline Ceyler, Meghan Bell, Elizabeth Pestke, and Christian Porath. We are looking forward to a great and successful year at Fairlawn.
Hello All,

It's going to be such a great show. I want to thank all of you for making this commitment and being a part of the drama club! We're all doing wonderful things! I'm so exxcited for the scavenger hunt coming up! Our fun days are going to be the BEST. (Btw if you want to win the scavenger hunt you should probs be on my team......... just saying) I cant wait for more of this year to come so I can make new fun memories with all of you. My senior year is going to be fantastic, and partly because of you wonderful people! Thank you for reading! Love You! -Kami Well, our first read through was last Wednesday. The cast seemed to really like the script and are really excited to get started on it. Several of them told me they thought the audience would think it was very funny. Let's hope so. It keeps them coming back when they like it.
Our ITS Induction Ceremony will be held on Monday, Sept. 12, 2016 at 6:30pm. We will be inducting 6 new members. We will be attending a Leadership Conference on Sept. 17, 2016 at Troy High School. So happy to have new faces joining us in support of our students. I look forward to a great year!!!
